• The Seattle Supersonics jerseys have sported a number of different logos over the years. The included the following:
  * Starting in 1967, the first Seattle Supersonics jerseys logo had on it a jet blasting into orbit after breaking earths orbit. The earth in the picture was a basketball.
  * The 1970 logo was thankfully on the jerseys for only one year. It was an unoriginal basketball with the name "Seattle Supersonics" inside it.
  * During the era starting in 1971, the word Sonics was in a script with the rest of the team name in smaller letters on the seattle jerseys.
  * From 1975 and for next 20 years, the logo was the skyline of the city captured within a basketball.
  * Starting in 1995 a new emblen was used that paid tribute to the opening of the teams new stadium named KeyArena. This one had the team moniker inside a cartoon type type with the Space Needle incorporated into the club name.
• The team name itself is an offshoot of the fascination in the '60s of fast air travel in planes that could break the sound barrier. The era has passed, but the name remains.
• The team first put on home whites and away greens. Later they wore yellow at home.
• An all star team lineup based on players from this team only could include Gary Payton, Gus Williams, Dale Ellis, Spencer Haywood, and Jack Sikrna.
• In 1977 during the NBA draft, this club used their eighth pick to take a Mr. Jack Sikma. Not a very well known player, he went on to be a cornerstone of this club for many years culminating with the '79 Title. Other events in 1979 included"
  * The Steelers out of Pittsburgh were the first club that won 3 Super Bowls when they beat Dallas during Super Bowl XIIV.
  * Willie Mays, baseball great, was elected to the Hall of Fame.
  * 60 Minutes became the top ranked show for this year.
• The club unwittingly contributed to the dominant success of the Chicago Bulls teams of the early 1990's when they drafted Jordans sidekick Scottie Pippen with their fifth pick in the 1987 NBA draft. Scottie wasn't a member of the team for long because he was traded to the Bulls almost immediately - the rest is history - but not for this team.
• For the season beginning in 2000, a man named Patrick Ewing came from the Knicks and pounded the hardwood in seventy nine matches. He never did look comfortable out of his NY duds.
• The numbers that have been retired by this club include #32 worn by Fred Brown, #10 as modelled by Nate McMillan, #43 made fashionable by Jack Sikma, and #19 owned by Lenny Wilkens.
• Fred Brown was a very popular man during the years he was in town. His generosity led him to buy season tickets and give them out to young people from needy areas of town.
• Mr. N ate McMillan was in this city for his whole career. He lasted twelve annums and that puts him second Fred Brown in total years service to the club.
