  • In Minnesota, the following Twins jerseys have been retired: 3, 6, 29, 14, 34, and 42. Those jerseys belonged to Harmon Killebrew, Tony Oliva, Rod Carew, Kent Hrbek, and Kirby Puckett respectively. As is the case throughout the league, #42 was retired in honour of Jackie Robinson by MLB directly.
  • The Hall of Fame has at least two Minnesota jerseys that belonged to Twins players, they are the jersey worn by Kent Hrbek during the 1993 season, and a 1964 Twins jersey worn by Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew.
  • Dateline September 20, 1981: 3 players in Minnesota jerseys hit home runs in their big league debut. Their names were Gary Gaetti, Tim Laudner, and Kent Hrbek.

  • In 1961, the WCCO radio broadcasting team was made up of Roy Scott, Bob Wolff and Halsey Hall.
  • The AAA affilliate is the Rochester Red Wings. Pro ball in Rochester can be traced back to 1877. At the time they played in the National Association. Among other names, the team in Rochester was known by the Live Oaks Hustlers, Bronchos, Jingoes, and the Brownies.
  • Minneapolis was represented in a type of world series in 1932, when they were in the Juniro World Series.
  • Still another baseball club in this area wa called the Millerettes, who took the field in 1944 in a league called the All American Girls Professional Baseball League. You may remember this league from the movie "A league of their own" which was made in 1992 and starred Tom Hanks and Madonna. It was from this movie that the famous heckle originated "There's no crying in baseball!".
  • While there was no Negro League clubs that called this city home, there were some great all-black teams in the early 1900's. Two of the well known clubs were the St. Paul Gophers and the Minneapolis Keystones.
  • The franchise made it two straight division titles by winning in 2002, and 2003.
  • In April of the year 1994, Scott Erickson threw no-hitter verses Milwaukee which was the 1st in the history of the stadium at the time. It was also the 1st for a pitcher from this club since 1967.
  • During the 1984 campaign the team was sold by Mr. Calvin Griffith to a Mr. Carl Pholad. Mr Pholad was able to reap the rewards as the team went from success to success soon afterwards.
