- On opening day in 1969, this franchise feilded a team that was made up of Maury Wills, Gary Sutherland, Rusty Staub, Mack Jones, Bob Bailey, John Bateman, Coco Laboy, Don Hahn, and Jim Grant.
- The franchise played the first game in it's history at the Big O in Montreal in front of 57,592 fans who came out to see the first home opener to be played outside of America. That attendance remained the home opening record throughout the organizations tenure in Quebec.They had played the clubs season opener a week earlier in New York.
- In 1982, newly acquired Al Oliver would become the 1st player on the club to win a batting title. That year he swatted his way to a .331 average. Four years later, Tim Raines would reclaim the crown for the club.

- The club has chosen a mascot named Screech to represent the club at fan events and during the game. He is an eagle, standing at 6-foot-2 making him much larger than average member of the bird family. The club front office said they may decide to have it screech to get the crowd going later on in the season. This is the third DC team to choose the same bird as a mascot.

- Four Montreal Expos jerseys have been retired. The are 8, 10 (twice), 30, and 42. They belong to Gary Carter, Andre Dawson, Tim Raines, and Rusty Staub. #42 belonged to Jackie Robinson and was retired by Major League Baseball directly in 1997.
- 1994 was to be heart-breaking season for the Expos. With a very talented group of players wearing the Expos jerseys. Those players included outfielders Larry Walker, Moises Alou and Marquis Grissom, second baseman Delino DeShields and pitchers Ken Hill, John Wetteland and a young Pedro Martinez. The Expos had the best record in major league baseball that year, compiling a win loss total of 74-40 when the strike began and forced the end of the campaign.
- Gary Carter was the first player to go in to the Hall of Fame wearing an Expos jersey, a decision made by Major League Baseball. The decision of what logo to wear when entering the hall is always an emotional one, both for the player and the fans of the various cities where that athlete played.

Critics will spend the rest of the decade debating why Steve Rogers was brought in from the bullpen.
