  • New Jersey Nets have retired numerous jerseys. These include those belonging to Drazen Petrovic #3, Wendell Ladner #4, John Williamson #23, Bill Melchionni #25, Julius Erving #32, and Charles "Buck" Williams who wore #52.
  • New Jersey Nets were one of original eleven clubs of the old ABA where the club won 2 titles in the 9 year history of the ABA.
  • This club was began life in 1967 with the name the New Jersey Americans.
  • After the 1975 - 1976 season, the ABA folded, and this club was 1 of 4 that went on to join the National Basketball Association.

    * A red, white, and blue basketball with the team nickname in script in the center white section - from 1977 - 1978.
    * A circle with a state map in the upper part on a blue background. A red lower part and the team name in white from 1978 - 1990.
    * A blue and red basketball with the team name at the top in a script very similar to the Star Wars script.
  • This club has played in a number of different arenas. These include the Teaneck Armory from 1967 to 1968, the Long Island Arena from 1968 thorugh 1969, the Island Garden from 1969 - 1972, the Nassau Coliseum from the 1972 season to the 1977 campaign. Then it was the Rutgers Athletic Center where they stayed from 1978 to 1981 before settling into the Continental Airlines Arena where they have been since 1981 and continue to play till now.
  • During the 2004 / 2005 season, Vince Carter was acquired in a trade that left the fans in Toronto extremely upset. After leaving, Carter admitted to not playing his hardest while with the Toronto club.
  • 'Sly' is the name of this teams mascot who appears to be a wolf of some sort.
  • Throughout all of 1984, all of 1994, and all of 2000, this team made absolutely no trades.
  • This club has a greateer number of wins against the Knicks, fifty eight, than any other team does.

  • The franchise record for assists belongs to Kevin Porter who had 29 on the twenty fourth of February, 1978 while playing the Houston Rockets. Kevin also set a club mark for turning over the ball by doing it twelve times on November 9, 1977 while playing the Philadelphia 76ers.
